Today, Newcastle United is going to be playing Arsenal. I mean, you obviously knew that from the title of this post, unless you maybe you’re lost, and you’ve been stuck wandering the internet and still haven’t found what you’re looking for. In that case, welcome to the site.
But let’s get started shall we?

Arsenal is in third place right now. A single point behind second place Manchester City. Arsenal can claim second today with a win against Newcastle United, and with no new injuries to report for Arsenal, they’ll be looking to put in every ounce of energy that they have into winning today.
On the other side, there is Newcastle United. A club with only 13 players to pick from today following Coloccini’s three match suspension that begins today. With only 13 players to choose from , Newcastle is left with only two substitutes, which means that Newcastle can’t even make a full three substitutions today. The players will get tired, and there’s a significant lack of ability to strategize.

Newcastle United
So let’s take a look at our lineups today. Obviously, Newcastle won’t be much to look at. Younger players will be taking over some of those substitution places.
Newcastle United:
Krul, Elliot, Janmaat, Williamson, R.Taylor, Satka, Sterry, Anita, Colback, Sissoko, Gouffran, Cabella, Ameobi, Obertan, Gutierrez, Kemen, Riviere, Perez, Armstrong — Not necessarily in that order
Arsenal:
Ospina, Monreal, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Bellerin, Coquelin, Cazorla, Ozil, Sanchez, Welbeck, Giroud, Szczesny, Walcott, Ramsey, Chambers, Gibbs, Gabriel, Flamini, Rosicky — definitely not in that order
Players to Watch:
Obviously, you have to keep an eye out for Olivier Giroud, he has been a beast this season, and I expect him to have more than one chance to put that ball away. Giroud is a proven attacker, and he gives Arsenal the best chance to beat Tim Krul today.
Ayoze Perez (will he play today?) will be one to watch as we go into this game. Hopefully he plays, because as he has been largely untested this year, to see him play against the third place team fighting for second place, it would really give us a sense of what he can really do. Perez is a good striker and has a lot of energy and talent. I think that if not this year, next year will absolutely be his year to shine.
Tim Krul is also one that we should look out for today. After watching him last week against Everton, he was absolutely on top of his game. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Krul so motivated. He truly is a leader on and off the pitch for Newcastle, and a top performance from him today could possibly be the boost his mates need to try to pull out a win against a strong team such as Arsenal.

The Top Flight
Match Facts:
I love match facts. Mainly because it shows you just how much better one team is over the other. But in this case, I’m not happy.
Olivier Giroud has nine goals in his last eleven matches. That’s a staggering number, and he’ll be looking to add to his tally.
Arsenal has won their last six matches against Tyneside, but let’s hope we can break that streak today.
Conclusion:
Newcastle needs to come out swinging today. No playing it safe, risks need to be taken, and tomorrow is the perfect time to do it. Newcastle needs to try something new to break this slump that they’re in. If John Carver can push his team to pulling out a victory today, then let’s just say he may show his strength after all.
