Newcastle United haven't made any huge signing in this transfer window. Now, only one week is remaining in the summer transfer window and the Magpies still need to bring in a new centre back as well as another forward to bolster the squad. Recently, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner spoke about Marc Guehi, suggesting that the England international will stay at the Selhurst Park this season and even captained Palace in their 2-0 defeat against West Ham.

For the new forward, Newcastle United are interested in signing Everton forward Dominic Calvert Lewin according to Caught Offside. Currently, the Magpies have Callum Wilson as the second choice forward after star forward Alexander Isak. Wilson is 32 years old and has missed several games due to injury in the last season.

Dominic Calvert Lewin has scored 54 goals and has provided 14 assists in 215 appearances in the Premier League. Further, the 27-year-old has great pace and decent finishing as a centre forward. Thus, Eddie Howe's side want to bring Calvert Lewin to the St. James Park this summer. Also, Everton are interested in signing Newcastle United right back Kieran Trippier and can do a swap deal with the Magpies involving Calvert Lewin. If Trippier stays at Newcastle, Eddie Howe's side can try to sign the England international on a season long loan from Everton instead.

Newcastle have also asked Chelsea about signing Noni Madueke, who has started the new season on a high note scoring four goals in three games for the Blues. Now it remains to be seen if Newcastle United try to sign Calvert Lewin or Madueke in this transfer window. Meanwhile, the Magpies are also trying to sign a quality centre back to bolster their defensive ranks.
