Newcastle United are monitoring the developing situation around Darwin Nunez as Liverpool prepare to offload the Uruguayan striker this summer.
According to CaughtOffside, Nunez is one of two Liverpool stars being targeted by Saudi giants Al Hilal – but interest in the 24-year-old also extends to Newcastle and La Liga heavyweights Atlético Madrid.

Newcastle transfer news: Darwin Nunez to Newcastle
Liverpool are reportedly open to selling Nunez, having grown frustrated with his lack of consistency since joining from Benfica. Arne Slot is expected to reshape the squad in his image, and the Reds have placed an €80 million price tag on the striker’s head.
That fee, however, may need to be negotiated down – and that is where Newcastle could sense an opportunity.
With Callum Wilson set to depart and Alexander Isak attracting interest from the Premier League’s elite, Eddie Howe is eager to add firepower. Darwin Nunez may not have fully clicked at Anfield, but his raw attributes – pace, aggression, and unrelenting movement – still make him an exciting project.

Al Hilal are financially strong and capable of matching Liverpool’s valuation. Atlético Madrid are also in the mix, offering Champions League football and a return to the Iberian Peninsula.
Newcastle’s pitch will need to be clear: a central role in an ambitious project, Premier League continuity, and the platform to rediscover his best form at St James’ Park.
