Newcastle United have been busy in the transfer market in recent weeks. They have already secured Anthony Elanga as their first major signing of the summer and are pushing to finalise the Hugo Ekitike deal, which would be a club-record transfer if agreed upon. On the departures front, the club have reached an agreement with Leeds United for Sean Longstaff, who is set to join the newly promoted side soon.

However, Newcastle’s transfer activity isn’t expected to slow down anytime soon, as they continue their search for further reinforcements. At the same time, the club may part ways with additional players to make room for new arrivals and also to comply with PSR (Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules). In fact, it appears that the Magpies have already identified the next player they plan to offload.

Football Insider has reported that former Man United and Sunderland chief scout, Mick Brown has exclusively told them that Lewis Miley is keen to play regular football and Newcastle could accept offers for the 19-year-old this summer.

Newcastle could part ways with Lewis Miley, who is looking for regular football

Miley came through the Newcastle academy and broke into the senior team in the 2023/24 season. However, he has failed to nail a starting spot in the Magpies squad, which was expected, given Newcastle currently possess one of the best midfields in the Premier League.

The youngster has made 14 league appearances this season, although he started in just one of them. As a result, the England international is now looking for a way out to get some regular minutes on the pitch.

Newcastle will need reinforcements in the midfield ahead of next season if Miley joins Longstaff through the exit door. Notably, the Magpies are already being linked with former Chelsea player Conor Gallagher and Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott as potential candidates. But for now, these are just speculations and we will have to wait and see how things pan out.
