Newcastle’s transfer window activity is in full swing following their acquisition of Anthony Elanga. A number of arrivals are still expected in the coming weeks and months as the club is looking for a centre-back and a striker.
Although there are no frontrunners for the centre-back role, the club has already identified Hugo Ekitike as a primary target for striker position. The Magpies have even launched their first official bid for the French player recently, but saw the bid get rejected by Eintracht Frankfurt. Moreover, other Premier League clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be interested in the player.
As of now, there are no clear indications if Newcastle will continue their pursuit of the player or not. Anyways, the club is keeping their options open in case the deal for Ekitike falls through and it looks like they already have a promising Real-Madrid youngster in their sights.
According to Defensa Central (via Team Talk), instead of paying €90million for Hugo Ekitike, the Newcastle board are ‘seriously considering’ investing in Endrick and ready to make a big offer for the player.
Newcastle interested in Real Madrid youngster Endrick
At just 18 years-old, Endrick is one of the most promising youngsters but has failed to cement his spot in Madrid’s star studded squad, appearing mostly of the bench.
The Brazilian international arrived at Real Madrid in 2024, although the Spanish side had agreed on a deal for the youngster back when he was just 16, for a total fee of €70 million. Since joining, Endrick has gone on to represent the team in 37 appearances and scored seven goals.
However with the recent emergence of Gonzalo Garcia for the Los Blancos in the Club World Cup, Endrick’s future is hanging in the balance and a summer move is looking increasingly likely. Could Newcastle be his next destination? Only time will tell.
