Newcastle United have recently been handed a new challenge following their striker Alexander Isak asking for a move away this summer. The club were already looking to bring in a new forward as a backup, but since this new development, the Magpies are busy finding a replacement for Isak as the club’s new primary striker.

Quite a number of names have been linked with Newcastle as potential candidates for the striker role. This includes Randal Kolo Muani, Endrick, Yoane Wissa, among others. The club are already in talks with Brentford for Wissa and recently placed a bid, although the Bees were swift to reject the offer.

Meanwhile, Newcastle seem to have already identified a replacement for Isak as they eye a move for a Bundesliga striker. In a recent post on X, Fabrizio Romano stated that Newcastle are interested in signing RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko. The club are ready to present their project to the player as they want to go big. Romano further wrote that a formal offer to Sesko is also being prepared, as the Magpies see the Slovenian international as an ideal striker in case Isak leaves.

Newcastle interested in RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko

RB Leipzig is reportedly expecting a fee of €70–80m to part ways with Sesko. Newcastle United could potentially use the funds from a possible Isak transfer to finance a move for the Slovenian international.

The 22-year-old is known for his goal-scoring ability, having found the back of the net 21 times this season alone. Sesko could be a major addition to Eddie Howe’s squad if a deal is reached. However, Newcastle are yet to make an official approach to the Bundesliga side, and for now, these remain just speculations.

That said, one thing is certain, the Magpies’ attacking setup is set to undergo major changes ahead of next season. Whether the reshuffle will leave the club better or worse off remains to be seen.
