The commencement of the 2025–26 Premier League season is just around the corner. Newcastle United will start their campaign against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday, 16th August. Having failed to win any of their pre-season friendlies, the Magpies will need to be at their best to begin the season with a victory.

Meanwhile, the club officials are working hard to salvage something from the transfer window in the remaining few weeks. Based on current progress, Newcastle’s transfer window could be considered more or less a failure. That said, the arrival of AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw appears increasingly likely and is expected to be completed soon.

In addition, it seems that the Magpies have secured the signing of a young player after his Liverpool exit. Fabrizio Romano has posted on X stating, Newcastle United have agreed deal to sign England U16 talent Isaac Moran after he left Liverpool. The agreement is done and signed with Moran and he is due to become Mapgies player officially in the upcoming days. The English international is seen as a potential top CB for the future by Newcastle Academy.

Isaac has come through Liverpool’s academy and has captained the Reds’ under-16 team. Additionally, the English international has also made three appearances for their under-18 team.

Newcastle have reportedly beaten top teams like Manchester City and Chelsea to secure the player. This signing signifies the Magpies’ push to invest in the future. By the looks of it they might have a gem on their hands and should focus on the player’s growth.

Anyway, it is unlikely that Newcastle fans will see the player in the first team anytime soon. That said, you never know - if the player does rise to the top, he may be called up by Eddie Howe sooner than expected.
