Gabri Veiga is becoming a tell-tale name in the La Liga as he continues to showcase impressive play for Celta de Vigo, and as of recently, Newcastle United looks to be in the running for his contributions.

The Magpies are officially a lock to be involved in the Champions League for the 2023-24 season, so the rumors have circulated that the club is looking to invest its efforts into some of Europe’s top talents.

Gabri Veiga has been turning heads in the world-renowned La Liga after an impressive 2022-23 season.

Veiga joined Celta de Vigo in the 2020-21 season at the ripe age of 18, before playing just 15 contests over the course of two seasons. Finally, in the 2022-23 season, he was able to play a full campaign for the club, scoring nine goals.

While he started just 27 games, his time on the pitch showed he had what it took to provide at a consistent, top-notch level.

Alongside his nine goals, he was able to shine as a playmaker recording four assists.

It was always prevalent that Veiga would be a consistent star on any given squad, as he shined with the club’s under-21 team recording 10 goals with them. With the first team, that play never wavered.

So, is it enough for him to find a spot on a Premier League roster?

Currently, Celta de Vigo is looking for anywhere between £30-60 million for the young 20-year-old.

With an unknown promising career in front of him, plenty of teams are lining up in hopes to bring the game-changer to their respective clubs.

As of now, Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle United have been in the running for him, and those races have shown no sign of slowing down.

2nd-place Arsenal was in the driver’s seat in April as they were involved in a £35 million transfer for him, rumored to be completed by the time the summer began, but as of now, that deal is nowhere to be found.

Now, Newcastle United seems to be in the driver’s seat as the previous Saudi Arabia takeover has given the team over £250 million to spend on transfers. The team is also in a spot for Champions League football at St. James Park, which makes the move even more enticing for both sides.

Veiga gets to join one of the top leagues in the world on a contending squad, while Newcastle gets another young stud to add to their arsenal. He has often been referred to as a quick, possessive and poised midfielder that can help contribute on both sides of the ball.

A player like him could instantly bolster the Magpies’ room around Manager Eddie Howe if the club were to make a move to make it happen.
