Terrible news for fans, great news for Bruce ahead of Villa clash

Newcastle United head coach Steve Bruce is quite the mystery man. As soon as his luck runs out in one area, a new window of fate opens in a different direction. With Newcastle United only one point clear of the relegation zone, the Toon Army want Bruce gone.

Fans saw this storm coming months ago, but their concerns fell on deaf ears. According to the latest report from the Daily Telegraph (via Birmingham Live), the calls for Bruce’s sacking will continue to be ignored.

The front office at St. James’ Park will stick with Bruce despite Newcastle United barely hanging on to claim a point against a dreadful, desperate West Brom side over the weekend. Generally speaking, Bruce’s employment status is one of the major surprises in the Premier League.

The fact that Newcastle United have 14 defeats in their record with 11 games to go is a major red flag on its own. What is more concerning is the fact that the Toon have only won two of their last 16 games. 10 points out of a possible 48? #BruceOut

Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley are complete fools for keeping Steve Bruce at Newcastle United.

In his two seasons in charge of the club, Bruce has experienced four losing streaks of five or more games. Bruce is only proving one thing at Newcastle United, that he is the king of inconsistency.

His use of over ten different formations is also a key ingredient for that disastrous recipe. Several heavy defeats stand out from Bruce’s tenure at Newcastle United, but the dropped points against relegation rivals is a major problem.

The Magpies have already suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brighton this season, they handed Sheffield United their first victory of the season, they drew Fulham thanks to a penalty, and just dropped crucial points to a “Championship” side.

Bruce can blame the quality of the squad all he wants, but the truth is that he has no idea how to bring the best out of his players. Bruce has lost this dressing room, and if he is not sacked this coming weekend Newcastle United will lose their status as a Premier League outfit.

The rumor among local journalists is that Bruce will be relieved of his duties if Newcastle United fall into the bottom three. If that is the case then let’s all root for Jack Grealish and company to get the job done on Friday. Losing a battle is much better than losing a war.
