Newcastle United beat West Ham United to lift themselves out the relegation zone.
Head coach Steve McClaren handed a full debut to midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, signed from Swansea City for £12m – while former Bordeaux man Henri Saivet came on as a substitute.
Shelvey was involved in both goals, and Magpies fans will be hoping he carries on that form into the final quarter of the season.

Saivet wasn’t as involved, but he wasn’t given enough time to fully show off his skillset. The former Ligue 1 man had previously scored against Liverpool in the Europa League with a well taken free kick, something that hasn’t flown under the radar with the Toon Army.
