Paul Merson opines his scoreline for the Newcastle United Vs Everton fixture

With the club coming on the back of an impressive performance against Pep's Manchester City after a series of sloppy displays, Eddie Howe's Newcastle would certainly feel confident about facing Everton at Goodison Park.

While definitely, the Tyneside club enters the fixture being the favorites, backed by a decent away record against Everton, it isn't well for them either. As was the case against Manchester City, Newcastle United would have to face Everton without their star forward, Alexander Isak, out for a toe injury. Moreover, considering that Sean Dyche's Everton has also been quite good in recent fixtures, things could go out of favor for Newcastle as well.

Recently, Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson gave his honest verdict on Newcastle's upcoming fixture against Everton. As has been Merson's wording in the past, he once again called the Magpies club fortunate enough for the points they have gotten so far. While he was convinced that Eddie Howe's side could perform as one of the best PL clubs, the Sky Sports host went on to predict a 1-1 draw for the fixture at Goodison Park.

"“If both teams play to the best of their abilities, then Newcastle will win. I’m not sure that’ll be the case here though; a draw looks more likely with both teams finding the back of the net.”"
