Newcastle team news

By far, Newcastle have the worse injury concerns in this one, with nine players ruled out as per Premier Injuries. Joelinton is listed as having a "25%" chance of playing, which is highly unlikely so he probably won't start anyway.

Between the sticks, Nick Pope is injured so unless Newcastle pull off an effective transfer between now and the weekend, Martin Dubravka will continue to play in goal. Two defenders are also ruled out of action, with Matt Targett and Javier Manquillo expected to miss this game through injuries.

The midfield is the worst position for Newcastle in terms of injuries. As mentioned, Joelinton is a doubt but Elliot Anderson and Joe Willock will miss this game. Furthermore, Sandro Tonali is suspended so he cannot play for a while.

In the attack, Callum Wilson has been ruled out so Alexander Isak will play. Also, Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes will be missing from the flanks, so it will be business as usual for Miguel Almiron and Anthony Gordon.

Man City team news

Man City have injury concerns of their own, with four players ruled out and two doubtful. The most interesting from Newcastle's perspective is our transfer target Kalvin Phillips, who is ruled out of this game through "illness". Seems suspicious to me...

Otherwise, Scott Carson, John Stones and Bernardo Silva are also ruled out through injury, meanwhile Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji will be assessed in the coming days in case they are fit to play.

Newcastle vs Man City score prediction

The away side will see this as an opportunity as their league competitors have dropped points recently. However, I think we have enough in us with this strong side to see off the threat, and Haaland potentially missing could be massive for us. I'll go with an optimistic Newcastle 0-0 Man City.
