What happens to Eddie Howe if Newcastle United don't make it through their difficult Champions League group?

Newcastle United find themselves in an incredibly difficult position of relying on results to go their way in the Champions League. They must win their last game in the Champions League group against AC Milan at home to go through, however, to win themselves is not enough, since they need the result of PSG vs Dortmund to go their way as well.

For Newcastle to still be within a shot of making it through this group is worthy of applaud in its own right. In truth, the game against PSG last night was decided unfairly against Newcastle, since it came down to the wire and a harsh penalty was given against us in the final few minutes.

Anyway, I digress. This article revolves around the future of Eddie Howe should we not make it out of this group stage in the Champions League, since a trusted journalist has spoken about this outcome.

What happens to Eddie Howe if Newcastle don't progress in the Champions League?

According to a report by Dean Jones (via GiveMeSport), Eddie Howe's future at Newcastle would not be under any threat, regardless of his outcome in the Champions League this season.

"“I don’t think Eddie Howe is going to be under pressure if Newcastle were just to go out of the Champions League. Their group has been crazy and it’s pretty much the toughest group they could have been landed in.”"

It goes without saying that Eddie Howe is one of the best managers in the world. What he has done at Newcastle is simply unthinkable, and he's started this season well. Even given the injury crisis we face, we're still within a realistic shot of the top four this season and have pulled together some amazing results. Therefore, Eddie Howe being sacked hasn't even crossed my mind in the slightest.
