Yesterday was a pretty devastating night for Newcastle fans. After it seemed like for some time we would progress to the Champions League knockouts after going a goal up against AC Milan, it all came crumbling down and we weren't even left with a Europa League spot. One man who will be more disappointed than anyone is Eddie Howe, as today's Newcastle United news has revealed what the club secretly think about his future.

According to a report from iNews, Eddie Howe is under no immediate pressure as club officials have held private meetings and the consensus is that they are happy with the Englishman at the helm. It remains to be seen how PIF feel about Eddie Howe but the report does state that the investors are "process-driven" so they likely see Howe as the right man for the job long-term.

I must admit, I am glad the hierarchy feels this way too. If you look at some examples from our competitors in the Premier League, it's more often the case that fans feel disconnected with their club owners but it seems like ours are on track with our vision as a club and see things the way we do as fans.

Eddie Howe is a great manager and I cannot think of anyone better for the job. Although there have been some whispers recently about Jose Mourinho being eyed as Howe's successors, I would rather we stick with Howe. I mean this as no disrespect to Mourinho who is a legendary manager, but Howe aligns with where we wish to go as a club more than the Portuguese special one.
