Newcastle United news: PIF owners continue to admire future Eddie Howe replacement

The news comes from Gazzetta dello Sport with the Italian outlet claiming that Newcastle owners are continuing to eye Jose Mourinho as they love the manager and think he would be a great fit at St James' Park should there come a need to replace Eddie Howe. However, it is stated within the report that Mourinho's current club AS Roma want him to retire in Italy, which shows how highly regarded he is in Serie A.

There's no denying that Jose Mourinho is a legendary manager and one of the greatest of all time. He has exceptional Premier League experience and despite managing 3 English clubs, his career highlights remains during his time at Chelsea.

I would be out of my mind to turn my nose up at the chance of having Jose Mourinho at St James' Park. Certainly, he embodies everything we value as a club and he would be a wind-up on the touchline to match the players on the pitch.

With that being said, though, we have no reason to replace Eddie Howe. Howe is our best Howe replacement, and that will remain the case for some time as he's still a young manager in comparison to others. If anyone is to lead us to greatness, I personally hope that it will be Howe.
