Newcastle transfer news: Eddie Howe teases fans as he's secretly eyeing TWO big deals

Eddie Howe has bizarrely made a comment about transfers in January already, which must mean we're in for big things since the English manager isn't the type to gloat about transfers to the media. When asked about the date he would begin to plan transfers, Eddie Howe said the following, according to Chronicle Live:

""Maybe not January 1, maybe late December," "

There is definitely a need to invest in the squad this January. We are still within touching distance of a top four finish and there is a chance to secure silverware in either of the domestic cups. We face Chelsea in the EFL Cup quarterfinal tonight, and a small team down the road in the FA Cup.

The two transfers which the report is linking us with are two players Dan Ashworth is a fan of. Firstly, there is Kalvin Phillips, who seems to have scored his last goal for Manchester City as he isn't in the future plans of Pep Guardiola, particularly with Kevin De Bruyne returning from injury.

The second player linked with a January move to the North of England is Serhou Guirassy. The Stuttgart forward is loved by his current Bundesliga club and rightly so given his rich goal scoring form, but Eddie Howe would like for him to continue his form in the Premier League instead.
