Unfortunately for Newcastle fans, a large chunk of the Newcastle transfer news in the final week and a half of the January transfer window will revolve around selling players. See, the Geordies must sell at least one of their prized assets to appease FFP rules, since they do not want to suffer the same fate as Everton.

Of course, there are other ways to deal with the potential investigation, but selling a prized asset is the quickest resolve, since then PiF can prove their earnings. But the question remains, which star player will be sold by Eddie Howe?

Ideally none will be sold, but Eddie Howe has reportedly narrowed down his two options. That's according to Football Insider, who have revealed that inside sources claim that Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes will be put up for sale in the closing stages of the January window.

Isak and Guimaraes are thought to be the two most profitable assets at St James Park, which makes sense when you look at their ages and abilities. Both players have excelled this season and picked up European acclaim due to their fine performances in the Champions League.

Alexander Isak is wanted by Arsenal, but it remains to be seen whether or not the Gunners will push forward in their interest. They definitely need a talisman, but I hope their experience of bottling will transcend into bottling this transfer, so we can keep Isak and keep the goals coming in.

Bruno Guimaraes seems happy at Newcastle, but it's hard to use this as an indicator into whether or not this will transpire into the player staying at St James Park. At the end of the day, all it takes is a whisper in the ear from an agent to turn the head of a player.
