In an ideal world, Eddie Howe would like none of the Newcastle transfer news to circulate around his own players. But given the work he has done over the last few seasons, there are bound to be certain clubs snooping around his squad, particularly those players who have shined on the biggest European stage of all, the Champions League.

One of those players is Bruno Guimaraes, who has had many excellent displays this season, but none more notable than his performance against Paris Saint-Germain. The French capital certainly seemed fond of his display but in the eyes of Eddie Howe, TOO fond.

For those who missed it, Paris Saint-Germain have added Bruno Guimaraes to their transfer wish-list. This was reported on Newcastle Toons yesterday (Tuesday), where we made it outwardly clear that we (obviously) didn't want this sale to happen.

Well, it appears Eddie Howe is thankfully in agreement. According to a report by the i, Eddie Howe and Newcastle United will reject ANY bid made by Paris Saint-Germain for Bruno Guimaraes.

The problem is, though, there is a £105m release clause in Bruno G's contract. It remains to be seen whether or not PSG would go to the extent of triggering the clause but if they do decide to pay this much, Newcastle's stance is rendered useless since he would have to leave per his contract.

It works in our favour that Bruno is happy to be here. He has already pledged his allegiance to the club and he is no stranger to familiarising himself with the St James Park crowd, who take him in their stride. Therefore, it seems unlikely that the Brazil international will push for a move away anytime soon.
