The Newcastle transfer news and seemingly, for all the right reasons. Much of the talk has involved signings, most notably Kalvin Phillips coming in from Manchester City as we revealed today that talks are "ongoing" with all parties in agreement. But how will there be space in the squad?

Well, Eddie Howe is anticipating some players to be sold this January in order to make some room in the squad. Ideally, these will be fringe players to free up some wage resources and make room in the squad. However, there is one player that Howe won't want to lose and that is Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazil international has been one of our best players this season and remained one of the only mainstays in the starting eleven due to injuries elsewhere. According to a new report though, he is being eyed by a European financial powerhouse.

As reported by Foot Mercato (relayed by TBR Football), Bruno Guimaraes is high on Paris Saint-Germain's radar this January, as they seek a world-class midfield reinforcement. While we will do everything in our power to keep our star player, including the £105m release clause in his current contract might come back to bite us in the backside.

Paris Saint-Germain clearly have the funds to meet this release clause and while it remains to be seen whether or not this is their aim, Eddie Howe's stance on wanting to keep Bruno would render useless since we cannot act in any way to prevent the release clause being triggered.

The only positive would be the ability to invest heavily in the squad due to injuries. But if you gave me the choice right now, I wouldn't sell Bruno for even £200m.
