In case you missed recent Newcastle transfer news, defender Kieran Trippier has been linked with a move away from St James Park this month. When it was revealed that Bayern Munich had shown interest in the Englishman, fans on social media immediately became nervous and this is understandable given his contribution to the team this season.

By far and away, Kieran Trippier is one of the most important players for Newcastle and this is the reason why he is the first name on the team sheet for Eddie Howe. Not only that he can play as either a right-back or a left-back, but because he is immensely talented in both the defensive and offensive half.

Another player who is linked with a move away from Newcastle is the injured striker Callum Wilson. Remaining somewhat a super-sub this season, he is yet to feature in a consecutive run of matches due to his consistent injury problems. While nobody denies he is an excellent striker and a great character to have in and around the dressing room, his injury concerns are worrying for Eddie Howe.

However, Howe has made a decision on both of his English players. According to a report from The Telegraph, Newcastle United will NOT sell Kieran Trippier or Callum Wilson this summer, regardless of conflicting reports linking them both with a move away.

It remains to be seen which players will be sold by the Geordies because it goes without saying that we must sell before we can seriously buy, and we need to buy given the amount of injuries and suspensions in the squad at the moment. I like that it wasn't Trippier for the reasons given but I have to say, I wouldn't have minded us selling Wilson, again, for the reasons mentioned.
