It was an evening to forget for the Magpies as Spurs embarrassed Newcastle at the Tottenham Hotspurs stadium. As we mentioned in our article about the stats to know about this game, there were goals in this game. However, Newcastle conceded four and was able to get only one back. It was a game that Newcastle had to win to surge ahead in their quest of qualifying for the Champions League next season. But, Spurs had other ideas as they dominated the game and could have scored more goals. So, how did Newcastle players play in this game? Here are the Newcastle player ratings vs Spurs.

Newcastle player ratings vs Spurs

GK: Martin Dubravka (2/10)

The first two of the four goals that Martin Dubravka conceded were not his fault. He did make some good saves. He surely had played his part in the third goal and also, conceded a penalty. Overall, it was a performance that Dubravka would not be proud of.

RB: Kieran Trippier (3/10)

It was surely a performance to forget for Kieran Trippier. The blame for both goals could go to him. In the second half, he looked better going forward. However, Newcastle fans expect a lot more from their talisman. His yellow card ensures that he will miss the next game for Newcastle. Howe took him off in the 86th minute of the game.

  • SUB: Emil Krafth (4/10)

Emil Krafth came in towards the end of the game. He didn't get enough time to make an impact on the game. Thus, in this Newcastle player ratings, he would get an average score.

CB: Jamal Lascelles (3/10)

Newcastle's captain was injured and Eddie Howe should have taken him off in the first half or at least at the start of the second half. He played in all the goals. Thus, it was a poor performance from Jamal Lascelles and Eddie Howe would have share the blame as well.

CB: Fabian Schar (4/10)

Fabian Schar looked better of the two center-backs for Newcastle. However, when a team concedes three goals, every player in the squad has to take the blame. So, Schar would want to forget this performance as soon as possible.

LB: Tino Livramento (3/10)

Pedro Porro proved to be a bit too much for the 21-year-old English left-back as he was struggling to keep the Portuguese in control. So, Livramento would be looking to improve his performance. Eddie Howe took him off in the 74th minute.

  • SUB: Matt Ritchie (2/10)

Yes, he did come on for Livramento but seemed invisible on the pitch. It is hard to remember a moment where he played a key role. Thus, he should get a poor score in this Newcastle player ratings.

CM: Joelinton (5/10)

Joelinton scored the only goal for Newcastle and looked lively going forward. He played well although other players were poor on the pitch. So, he would be the man of the match among Newcastle players in this game.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes (3/10)

Bruno started the game well. However, as the game went on, things went from bad to worse for him as Spurs ran over Newcastle's midfield. So, it was an average performance from Guimaraes and he would get an average score in this Newcastle player ratings.

CM: Lewis Miley (2/10)

The 17-year-old English midfield was invisible on the pitch. He had nothing to offer in the midfield as Spurs ran riot in the middle of the park. Lewis Miley is a talented footballer for sure. But, he has a lot to improve. And, this game is a testament to this.

LW: Anthony Gordon (3/10)

Anthony Gordon didn't have a great game. He did put in a shift for Eddie Howe. But, he was not helping defensively that much. Eddie Howe had to take him off in the 74th minute.

  • SUB: Lewis Hall (2/10)

Eddie Howe wanted to strengthen the defense of Newcastle which is why he brought on Lewis Hall. But, he failed to do his job and thus, he would get a poor score in this Newcastle player ratings.

ST: Alexander Isak (2/10)

Isak did put in a shift as he ran like a headless chicken. However, when the chance came, he was unable to bury them. Thus, in this Newcastle player ratings vs Spurs, he would get a poor score because he deserves that. Eddie Howe took him off in the 64th minute.

  • SUB: Callum Wilson (4/10)

Callum Wilson will get the assist for Joelinton's goal however, it is hard to recall what he did in that game apart from that. Newcastle's attack looked toothless and thus, Wilson didn't get enough opportunities in front of goal.

RW: Miguel Almiron (4/10)

Miguel Almiron looked lively from the start of the game. However, as time went on in the game, he seemed to fade away. Things went so bad that Eddie Howe had to take him off in the 64th minute.

  • SUB: Sean Longstaff (2/10)

Eddie Howe wanted to take control of the midfield and that is why he brought on Longstaff. However, he was hard to find on the pitch. Thus, he will get a poor score in this Newcastle player ratings.
