Newcastle injury news: Boost for Eddie Howe as talisman striker is fit for Newcastle vs AC Milan
In the pre-match press conference, one injury doubt has declared that he is fit enough to play a part in this match. That player is Callum Wilson, who has suffered with injuries this season but has recently returned as a substitute. When asked if he was available for this match, Wilson said the following:
"“Of course, born ready,
- Callum Wilson
You work so hard during your rehab that you can get back and tolerate any load and demand that is put on you. I feel like I’m in a very good place right now.”"
This is great news for Newcastle fans and Eddie Howe as he plays Tetris with his starting lineup given the injury crisis. Callum Wilson is more than likely to start from the bench, as Alexander Isak is the number one option when both players are fit. But given his impressive performances from the bench this season, I definitely wouldn't put it past Wilson from having an impressive cameo if needed.
Callum Wilson is one of the players who was pivotal in us qualifying for the Champions League, so he'll want to get a goal in the competition. No matter what happens tonight, Eddie Howe will field a strong lineup and push for the win since there could be a route to the Europa League, in the worst case scenario.
