The Dan Burn injury has lasted for what feels like a lifetime but he's back, which could be a hint for the Newcastle lineup vs Fulham.

As Eddie Howe prepares his Newcastle lineup vs Fulham, he could be massively helped by the apparent Dan Burn injury return. In case you missed it, we recently reported that Dan Burn is very close to his return and he could be in the squad for the weekend's Premier League match, if not as soon as Wednesday evening's Champions League tie.

While the Dan Burn injury loss has been made easier by the versatility of Kieran Trippier and the form of Tino Livramento, there's no denying the big man has been a significant loss at the back for Eddie Howe.

Against Fulham at the weekend, there seems to be only one defensive solution. For those that aren't aware, we will be without Kieran Trippier who must serve his Premier League suspension after picking up an accumulation of yellow cards, exceeding the allowed limit. With that being said, Dan Burn has returned from his injury at the right time.

Tino Livramento can play on his strongest side, which is on the right flank of defence. This will benefit the young lad, as the position is often occupied by Kieran Trippier who is a bigger asset to the team at the moment. With Tino on the right, this allows Dan Burn to slot back into the left-back position which he has made his own.

However, it remains to be seen whether Eddie Howe will risk further injury by starting Dan Burn too soon. Although I do expect him to play some role in this match, it would be a surprise to see him start (but a nice surprise, it must be said). Lewis Hall could start before being subbed off for Dan Burn.
