Newcastle United has been to a brilliant start this season, with the club having 3 wins and a draw from their Premier League fixtures so far. Especially, the club's recent victory against Wolves has been much of a morale booster, given that it came when few had expected the club to pull off this result.

While credit is due to star players like Harvey Barnes, Joe Willock, Nick Pope, and others, nothing can be taken from Eddie Howe's role in the club's start. While many might argue that the Magpies club has been quite fortunate in results, taking almost the same team as last year, that too with major injuries, to this start isn't for everybody.
Recently, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, speaking in a media address, provided crucial updates on the club's star forward Callum Wilson. The Englishman, after facing a back injury, had to be sidelined for the club's preseason and still hasn't become available for squad selection. And as per Howe's updates, it doesn't appear he will return any soon.
Speaking about Wilson's return expected date, Howe mentioned,
"“We’re looking and hoping to have him back in full training for the international break, to be ready hopefully for the games afterwards.”"

As conveyed, the best scenario in Newcastle's favor would be that Wilson returns just after the October international break. From the Magpies club's perspective, this update definitely isn't in the best of their interest, as with their priority forward Alexander Isak being in doubt for the upcoming games and Wilson's return far, Eddie Howe might have to try new possibilities in the role.
With mainly just 2 viable options for Newcastle left while going forward, to either start Gordon or prodigy forward Osula in the role, the club certainly finds itself in a tricky situation. Given Anthony Gordon's silent second-half performance against the Wolves and the considerable lack of experience of Osula, it looks like Howe would need significant brainstorming to find an effective solution.
Overall, Callum Wilson's far return date, combined with Isak's unavailability issues, means Newcastle's attack force has certain questions that need a proper answer. With important fixtures coming up the club's way, it would be interesting to see how Eddie Howe addresses these issues, trying to continue unbeaten.
