Since he joined the Magpies club in January 2022, star fullback Kieran Trippier has been one of the constant mainstays for the club. Be it contributing in attacks or making chances through brilliant set-piece deliveries, apart from being a master of the defensive role, Trippier has been a part of the club for quite a long time now.
Despite being one of the first signings since Saudi took over the Magpies club, signifying his importance for the club, the past few months hadn't been decent for Trippier. After losing the captaincy armband to compatriot Bruno Guimaraes and with the rise of Tino Livramento in his wing, Trippier was close to making a move in the last phases of the summer window.

Fortunately, with Eddie Howe's intervention, the club currently maintains the hold of the star full-back, whose cameo roles have been quite helpful for the Magpies this season. Firstly, instilling a comeback in a difficult away fixture, against Bournemouth, and now the comeback victory against Wolves, Trippier's presence has acted as a morale booster for the rest of the club.
Speaking to the media, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe stressed out the quality that Trippier's arrival brought for Newcastle. Howe mentioned,
"“A lot has been said about the substitutes at halftime (against Wolves), and they all had a positive impact on the game, but when Kieran came on, you could just feel his quality, whether that was his quality on the ball or his set-play delivery.""

From a long time, the English manager has been a huge admirer of Trippier and was key in securing him for at least a few seasons more. Being aware of the experienced full-back's utility, Howe knows that Trippier would be key to maintaining a smooth transition to Livramento in the upcoming seasons.
Remarking about the 33-year-old's presence, Howe said,
"“I’m delighted with him. He looks fitter, and mentally, I think he’s in a good place. He’s got such an important part to play for us this season.”"

Clearly, Trippier's stay has been one of the biggest positives from Newcastle's otherwise underwhelming transfer window. Newcastle fans would hope that the veteran full-back continues the same way, bringing his clutch abilities into play during crucial moments for the Magpies club.
