Newcastle vs AC Milan: There's been a HUGE boost for Dan Burn injury return ahead of Champions League clash

Ahead of the important fixture, there has been some excellent injury news for Newcastle fans to use as a confidence boost. According to a recent article by BBC Sport, the Dan Burn injury return is set to happen ahead of schedule. Burn is expected to do his last bit of broadcasting during tomorrow's match, but could be back in the squad for the Fulham clash at the weekend.

This is excellent news for Eddie Howe, as he has been met with the task of replacing Kieran Trippier in the weekend squad, as he faces a suspension from this Premier League match. If Dan Burn feels like he's ready to start in this match, then it could be a case of playing Tino Livramento at right-back and Dan Burn at left-back, but only at the medical team's discretion.

The Dan Burn injury has admittedly been easier to deal with than others but this is a testament to both Kieran Trippier's versatility and Tino Livramento's rise to first-team football. There is no rush to bring Dan Burn back to action but this is certainly a step in the right direction as Eddie Howe battles through the congested December fixture schedule.

As Dan Burn has been a big part in us standing a chance in this Champions League group, it would be great to see the lads go out there and secure the big man a place in the knockout stages when he returns properly.
