There are quite a few pressing matters ahead of Newcastle United's upcoming Premier League home fixture against Hull City, whether it be the personnel issues, the tactical naiveties or simply the fact that the Magpies are hosting a side full of confidence - there is something a little concerning everywhere you look.
Unfortunately for Matthias Jaissle, those issues have been further highlighted by the growing injury list which has seen Jacob Ramsey, Nico Gonzalez and Anthony Elanga all being added to the list this week.
And it is the latter of those names that precedes what I believe to be the biggest problem facing the German in such an important game... Jacob Murphy.
Jacob Murphy can't keep starting
With the devastating speculation that Anthony Elanga has suffered an ACL injury, a rumour which is persisting beyond sensationalism, Newcastle United are left with just one fit right winger in Jacob Murphy.
Unfortunately, that simply can't run against Hull, never mind for the rest of the season which it appears may be the case if Elanga is out long term.
Murphy has had ample chances already this season to prove his worth as a genuine option. But when we run through his performances in those games, the prospect of having him in the starting XI long-term becomes sickening.
Carabao Cup failures & A Leeds disaster
Murphy has started both of the Carabao Cup games Newcastle have played so far this season and looked absolutely awful in each of them. In fact, Newcastle went on to win both of those games, despite not being ahead when he was on the pitch... I think that speaks for itself.
He then started again against Leeds United on Monday night with Elanga injured and put in one of the most abhorrent displays I've seen from him in a long time (and that's saying something given his form at the minute).
The problem now is, whilst everybody and their mother can see he is no longer cut out to play any sort of significant role, there aren't many other options going forward but to play... so what on earth does Jaissle do?
Bazoumana Toure's time to shine
It's well documented that Bazoumana Toure has seen limited game time so far this season, but this feels like it could be the perfect chance for him to step up, if Jaissle trusts him to do so.
Toure has the capability of playing on the right. Harvey Barnes, who has started on the left in every Premier League game this season, also has that pedigree.
So it isn't necessarily a case of sticking Baz on the right and seeing if it works, but a more dynamic system which sees them swapping over at various points during the game could be a good route forward.
Toure has already shown some positive signs in pre-season and his cameos thus far, including the consolation goal against Leeds, and is simply a much better option that Murphy right now in every sense of the word.
If there was ever a time to give the Ivorian some meaningful minutes, now is it, because Jacob Murphy CANNOT be on that right wing come Saturday.
