With the season over and a summer filled with the usual constants of international friendlies, many of Newcastle United’s players have been called up for international duties, according to several outlets.

However, in this instance, they are not completely accurate on who is really out on international duty.

According to Onefootball, Swiss Striker Alexander Isak was called up but could not play due to injury.

Fabian Schär is not listed in the Switzerland roster for this round of international matches because he stepped down from international duty a year ago.

Along with these two, Newcastle’s skipper, Trippier, also retired from international duty a year ago and has drawn a lot of attention to himself due to his divorce.

He has also picked up an injury in recent games, causing his fitness to come into question.

Newcastle United post-season schedule

With the names above in mind, other Magpie stars are truly playing for their countries.

Anthony Gordon has been called up for England, and Emil Krafth is healthy and has been selected by Swedish manager Tomasson.

Martin Dubravka is with Slovakia. Bruno Guimarães has returned to the Americas alongside the Brazil National Team for World Cup qualification matches, of which Brazil won 1-0 over Paraguay.

Yankuba Minteh is representing Gambia and is a part of their AFCON qualifying squad.

21-year-old defenderTino Livramento is also representing England, just not with the senior team.

His contributions will be featured with England’s Under-21s.

Among these players who have international duty, some of these stars are likely to have a big impact with their current national teams.

Anthony Gordon has had good minutes in the England loss to Senegal (3-1).

Although it is not the result that the Three Lions wanted, Gordon’s contribution in building the attack for Harry Kane’s goal should be noted.

Another notable name, Tino Livramento, will soon be spoken of in young households.

With the attacking mentality of the former Liverpool turned Real defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, and with the defensive tenacity of the great Juventus terror Georgio Chiellini, Livramento should have no problem in aiding the U-21s of England to great international wins.

With the international players gone and with others having injuries, many Toon Army fans might wonder what's next for the club.

The next few weeks of the schedule are relatively quiet in terms of schedule density.

Yet, the Magpies will be playing games on the road in Asia and will also be hosting club friendlies at home in St. James’ Park.

Friendlies will be played against both league and out-of-league teams. Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, and Celtic will soon be facing NUFC.
