However, the Magpies club might receive a massive boost once the PL action returns after the ongoing international break. With their star forward duo, Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson, set to return, whose absence was much felt in the club's frustrating draw against Everton, reports suggest that another prodigy star might be on a return this month.

18-year-old prodigy Lewis Miley, who was one of the breakout stars at Eddie Howe's side, is set to return after being injury sidelined for months. Given the prodigy's importance last season, Miley had gone on to play an impressive 26 games for the Magpies club before missing most of the last stages of the 2023/24 campaign due to a back injury. Moreover, while he seemed close to returning, he had a foot injury ahead of the preseason.

But, after missing out on representing the Magpies club for months now, the player seems close to making a return. Not to forget, manager Eddie Howe had hinted at the player returning back to group training after the international break, showing signs of significant injury recovery. However, a recent statement from the Athletic's journalist Chris Waugh sounds crucial regarding the player's potential return.

As was pretty evident last season, manager Eddie Howe had to rely heavily on Lewis Miley for midfield duties, utilizing him a bit more than was expected for a 17-year-old. Considering the same, Chris Waugh mentioned that the Magpies club might not want to rush the prodigy star, given what happened last season. In fact, the journalist was wise enough to predict that Miley might not even start a game for Newcastle this month.

Given Newcastle's schedule after the international break, their fixture against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup can be an ideal time for Miley to get some minutes on his return. While it looks difficult for him to feature in the starting XI, as Chris Waugh said, the prodigy midfielder might have some crucial minutes in the end. Newcastle fans would hope that this possibility transcends into reality, as they look forward to nearing their full-strength squad after the October break.
