Coming on the back of a brilliant fixture against Manchester City, the Magpies club couldn't replicate the same as they were restricted to a frustrating goalless draw by Everton. While it wasn't the case that the unit lacked in creating chances, the finishing up front was terribly awful from the forward line.

Newcastle boss Howe issues a fresh injury update on key forward-front duo

Despite a brilliant solid performance by the midfield duo of Club Captain Bruno Guimaraes and ace star Joelinton, the bigger difference between their outing against Everton and Manchester City was the performance of their forward three. In particular, it proved to be a nightmare of the fixture for star Anthony Gordon, who had looked good in his last appearance.

As club legend Alan Shearer commented, so far this season, Newcastle's attacking numbers have been mediocre, halting the overall unit's display. With priority forward Alexander Isak being out of touch in the initial season stages and currently being injured, alongside Callum Wilson sidelined as well, Newcastle's forward issues have been grave.

Clearly, as per Shearer's suggestion, the club needs to have the forward duo of Isak and Callum Wilson available as soon as possible, after the international break. Recently, manager Eddie Howe mentioned the recovery updates of the two star players and seemed positive about their return after the break.

Upon being asked whether the two stars would be available for the club once the club action resumes, Howe replied affirmatively, saying,

"“We hope so.”"

Further adding upon the importance of the forward duo, the Newcastle boss mentioned,

"“They are two huge players for us. When you take any focal point out of a team, it has an impact.""

As it stands, the Magpies expect their star forwards Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson to be available for the club's next fixture against Brighton after the international break. From Eddie Howe's unit's perspective, the return of the two stars not only would ensure their squad strength but rather prove to be the only feasible solution the club can have currently.

Overall, Eddie Howe's positive updates suggest that the club's brilliant forward stars, Isak and Wilson, will be available after the international break. Magpies fans would hope for them to be back to their level best, as the club needs some consecutive wins to keep their top-4 chances alive.
