Newcastle might have a chance to acquire Real Madrid's UCL-winning star in January

Newcastle United's 2024/25 transfer window was quite an underwhelming one. Failing to bring in their desired reinforcements over the summer, the Magpies club had to kick in the new season with almost the same roster. While initially, the aftermath of a poor transfer event led to tensions in the club board, the repercussions are now much more evident as Newcastle is winless from the last 4 PL games, struggling for points.

However, as reports indicate, the Toon club would want to change scenarios soon, with them likely to make some key signings in the January transfer window. Although the club's priority reinforcement remains a right-wing signing and a prolific center-back, they might look for some loan moves, if possible. While loan deals haven't been pretty common at Newcastle, they might want to hear some exciting offers as one, the recent reports suggest.

As per TBR Football insider Graeme Bailey, chances could arise in Newcastle's favor to sign Real Madrid's shining prodigy Arda Guler on loan. Since moving to Los Blancos in July 2023, Guler has been one of the best prodigy talents in European football. Despite missing the majority of his debut campaign due to injury, Guler was sensational on his injury return. In his 12 appearances for Real Madrid, the 19-year-old netted 6 goals, displaying his talent on the biggest stage.

Moreover, on the back of a brilliant run with Real Madrid, Guler enjoyed a star-making Euro campaign, where he was crucial in Turkey's advance to the quarterfinals. However, despite having proven his prowess at the biggest stage, Guler has been struggling for enough opportunities in the Real Madrid lineup, featuring the likes of superstars Kylian Mbappe, Vini Jr., Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham. Thus, Graeme Bailey believes that chances could arise for the player pushing for a loan move in January.

Speaking about the player's uncertain future and Newcastle's interest in him, Bailey mentioned,

"“From my understanding, Guler could be available on loan. Newcastle are paying attention to his situation. By December, we will get a clearer indication over whether a loan is a possibility.”"

Although any possibilities of the player's move don't sound certain, it could be a brilliant opportunity for Newcastle if they could bring Guler on loan. Not to forget how Arsenal has transformed former Real Madrid's prodigy star, Martin Odegaard, to the stage where he is captaining the side; the Magpies club might have an opportunity to do the same. The Magpies club fans would hope that they manage Guler's signing, who being the versatile star he is, could help them much in the season's crucial phase ahead.
