Newcastle transfer news – Eddie Howe has no problem with Serhou Guirassy fee

If Newcastle United are looking for a bargain in the January transfer window, then they’ll look no further than Serhou Guirassy. According to a report from Bild, Newcastle would have no issue meeting the fee for the in-form Bundesliga striker. While no set fee is mentioned, it is known that Guirassy has a release clause of €17.5m (£15.2m) in his current contract.

Guirassy is one of the most in-form strikers in Europe this season, as he is Harry Kane’s closest competition in terms of goal scoring in the Bundesliga. Therefore, it’s no surprise that AC Milan will join the race, as they are also in the market for a cheap striker given the age of Olivier Giroud.

Newcastle transfer news – Expect Kalvin Phillips to leave

Fabrizio Romano is the most trusted transfer reporter in the world. When January comes around, we will be seeing his name everywhere as the breaker of credible news. Although, the trusted journalist has already had some things to say on a certain midfield target of Newcastle’s.

According to Romano, January will finally be the transfer window where Kalvin Phillips leaves Manchester City. The out-of-favour midfielder is of interest to Eddie Howe, who would like to revamp his midfield options given the disappointing injuries we have faced in this position.

It seems like this would be a move which benefits all parties – Man City get money, we get a great player and Phillips gets a chance to prove himself before EURO 2024.
