In today’s Newcastle injury news, there has been a recent CRUCIAL update on the Jamaal Lascelles injury scare from the weekend’s match.
Newcastle United face Paris Saint-Germain away from home in their penultimate Champions League group stage match. Although the Magpies are not in desperate need of a win in this match, it’s hard to imagine they’ll make it through to the knockout stage of the competition without a miracle.
A win will fill the lads with confidence and while it won’t guarantee progress to the knockout stage, it would mean we are one vital step closer. I’m hoping for a good game and no matter what happens, I’m proud of the lads for the fight they’ve shown in the supposed “group of death”.
Newcastle injury news – CRUCIAL update on the Jamaal Lascelles injury scare
The weekend’s match against Chelsea made for great viewing as we took the lead twice and ultimately won the match comfortably. However, something happened which did not appeal to the St James Park faithful and that was when Jamaal Lascelles came off.
A goal scorer on the day, it was difficult to recognise the reason why Lascelles came off the pitch late in the match. Not even the commentators were certain about the reason, meaning many of us left the ground without knowing what would happen against PSG in midweek – Albeit, beating Chelsea 4-1 did well enough to calm those nerves.
The centre-back and colossal club captain Jamaal Lascelles has cleared up where he stands on the injury front, though. Speaking to BBC North East, Lascelles confirmed that he is fine and the reason he left the pitch is that he was having trouble with his boot.
Indeed, it must’ve felt weird for our lad Lascelles to be wearing scoring boots, so no wonder he was having confusion. As much as we love him for his defensive displays and leading from example, he isn’t known for his goal scoring.
