There is an important Champions League match between PSG vs Newcastle, which one club has officially confirmed this colossal defender will miss.

Newcastle find themselves in a position where they must win their next Champions League match to keep their dreams of playing in the knockout stages of the competition alive. They have suffered two disappointing results against Dortmund, which means they must repeat what initially seemed to be impossible – beating PSG.

This time around, it will be a much harder task since the Magpies travel to the Parc des Princes to face the Parisians. Admittedly, Eddie Howe doesn’t have the strongest team available to him either since they are going through an injury crisis.

However, something which may provide some reassurances to Howe is that his competitors are going through their own injury dilemma. One of their most important players Marquinhos was injured on international duty, with many wondering whether he would be fit for this important fixture (of which, PSG could also do with a win).

That said, it has today been confirmed that Marquinhos will not be fit to play in this match. According to a report by Sport Witness, it has been officially confirmed by PSG that they will be without Marquinhos.

Since Newcastle do have their full strength attacking trio available, it’s advantage to Eddie Howe in this regard since PSG are likely to play a weakened defence. With some attacking firepower on display from both teams in need of a win, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a high scoring fixture, much like that night at St James Park.
