Newcastle team news

Prepare yourselves, the Newcastle team news isn’t great. We know there is an injury crisis going on at the moment as this hasn’t changed over the international break. Fortunately, there were no significant injuries to happen over the international break, but the following players are ruled out.

  • Callum Wilson (injured)
  • Dan Burn (injured)
  • Elliot Anderson (injured)
  • Harvey Barnes (injured)
  • Jacob Murphy (injured)
  • Matt Targett (injured)
  • Sven Botman (injured)
  • Sandro Tonali (suspended)

There is some good news for Newcastle fans, though. We reported yesterday that Miguel Almiron and Alexander Isak are both expected to be fit for this match. This is an excellent double boost for Eddie Howe with regards to his attack.

Further, it remains to be seen whether or not Sean Longstaff will be out for this match. Before the international break, the midfielder looked uncomfortable and the prediction from our Newcastle injury news is that he is set to miss the Chelsea match but return for the PSG fixture in midweek.

Chelsea team news

Chelsea also have their injury concerns. Mauricio Pochettino will be without the following players:

  • Levi Colwill (injured)
  • Ben Chilwell (injured)
  • Marcus Bettinelli (injured)
  • Wesley Fofana (injured)

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of their summer signings Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia, with both players facing a race against time to be fit for this match. Carney Chukwuemeka and Trevoh Chalobah are also doubts for this match, but they could prove to be fit during the day or so before kick off.

Newcastle vs Chelsea score prediction

The injuries don’t work in our favour, but I favour us to get a result here. Playing a strong front three will benefit us but I am worried about our lack of options in defence. Overall, I think a 2-1 win to Newcastle is on the cards.
