Ahead of Newcastle vs Chelsea, Magpies boss Eddie Howe has received a huge double injury boost, with two of his star players thought to be available.
Newcastle will face Chelsea at home at the weekend. After a week’s break due to the international break, Eddie Howe will want to pick up some momentum before the busy festive period but to do so, he will rely on the players available to him.
Of which, there aren’t many. If we’re being completely honest, the growing injury list has cost us in recent weeks but this was bound to happen. Eddie Howe, through no fault of his own or the medical team, struggles to name a full strength eleven since many of the star players are out of contention with long-term injuries.
But playing against Chelsea, there should be no excuse not to get three points. Although the Blues are starting to pick up form, we are the better side and we have more cohesion even with our injuries. We’ve beaten better sides than Chelsea this season, so I have no doubt that Eddie Howe will chase nothing less than three points.

Eddie Howe handed a double injury boost ahead of Newcastle vs Chelsea
Thankfully, Eddie Howe has received a double injury boost as both attacking players Alexander Isak and Miguel Almiron are set to be available for selection this weekend. However, according to The Northern Echo, Howe faces an anxious wait to see whether or not Sean Longstaff is available for selection since there is somewhat of an injury scare there.
Having Alexander Isak back will be a big boost, particularly when you factor in the missing Callum Wilson. Further, Miguel Almiron is in good scoring form, so having him available against a big team is a big boost for Eddie Howe.
