Newcastle injury news: Dan Burn injury is “not a concern” for Eddie Howe

The Dan Burn injury came as a real blow to Eddie Howe, mostly because it was unexpected. With some players, you can tell they are on the verge of injury if they look worn out or if they’re being overworked week in, week out.

This was not the case for big Dan Burn, who simply suffered an accidental injury from landing awkwardly against Arsenal.

This has been echoed by Geordie Boot Boys, who have reported a Newcastle insider’s understanding that the Dan Burn injury is of no concern to Eddie Howe or the Newcastle medical team, since it is being examined as a freak accident rather than exhaustion from overuse of the player.

This doesn’t make the injury any harder to accept, but at least there is hope that the chances of this injury repeating with other players is minimal.

Newcastle injury news – Callum Wilson sits out international duty

I guess this is good news for Newcastle fans, as Callum Wilson will no longer be involved in international duty. There isn’t further concern for his injury, it’s just best for his recovery if he stays in Newcastle to nurse his current hamstring problem.

Wilson playing two additional games for his country would have been bad for Eddie Howe from a selfish perspective. Therefore, a mutual decision has been made for Callum Wilson to be withdrawn from international duty, with Cole Palmer of Chelsea taking his place.
