Newcastle injury news – Gareth Southgate shares Callum Wilson injury update

Yesterday, we reported that Callum Wilson was one of the two Newcastle players in the England squad for the November international break. While this is great news for the player and we are proud of his hard work which has resulted in the callup, we cannot deny that as fans, it’s nerve racking to see Wilson play two additional games. Particularly when you factor in how injury-prone he is.

According to Newcastle World, Gareth Southgate has shared the concern with selecting Callum Wilson himself. He has revealed that it remains a big doubt whether Wilson will be able to play the two games during the international break. I guess we will understand more about his injury when the lineup is revealed for tomorrow’s match. I haven’t put Wilson in my Newcastle predicted lineup vs Bournemouth.

There has been an important update regarding Matt Targett this week. On Tuesday, the injured left-back underwent surgery. It was needed for his recovery. According to a report from Shields Gazette, he is expected to be out for around three months, returning in February next year.
