Newcastle players in the England squad for November international break

Callum Wilson

Interestingly, Callum Wilson has made the cut for the England squad for the November international break. After he was subbed off for us in our midweek Champions League fixture against Dortmund, where Eddie Howe confirmed it was a hamstring injury, he has been deemed fit enough to play for England.

Obviously, there is still over a week before the international break. Therefore, it’s still a possibility that he doesn’t feature for us in our Premier League fixture against Bournemouth at the weekend. However, it’s good to see that his hamstring injury isn’t a long-term concern for Eddie Howe.

For Callum Wilson, this is a great opportunity to make his landmark 10th senior cap for England. Currently, he has made nine appearances for the senior team but even if he comes off the bench for one of the matches, he would pick up his 10th England cap. Let’s just hope he comes back injury free.
