Former Chelsea and Newcastle United manager, Ruud Gullit, has heaped huge praise on English boss Eddie Howe for the work he’s done at St James Park.

Newcastle have caught the eyes of many as we’ve had a seriously impressive turnaround as a club in recent seasons. Not only did we qualify for the Champions League last year, but it looks like we could do the same again as we’ve started the season in the same rich vein of form.

It’s crazy to think that only a few seasons ago we were battling relegation but now, we are feared by most of the Premier League and even made a name for ourselves in Europe. Of course, the current crop of world-class players available to us are to thank but there is one person who has made all of this possible – Mr Eddie Howe.

The English boss who is one of the best in the country is a huge asset to us as a club. He has transformed the way we play football and the way we operate our transfer business. Oftentimes this is overlooked by neutral or rival fans but we will never take his work for granted.

Chelsea icon Ruud Gullit praises Newcastle boss Eddie Howe

According to a report by TBR Football, which has quoted Up Front with Simon Jordan, Chelsea legend Ruud Gullit has heaped huge praise on Eddie Howe. The former Chelsea and Newcastle manager has claimed that “Howe has been exceptional” and what he likes most about Newcastle is that “everyone thought that they would buy unbelievable players with the money they got, and that didn’t happen”.

Gullit even predicted us to make it through the group of death in the Champions League. I really hope he’s right!
