Ian Ladyman from The Mail praised Newcastle after the Magpies defeated Manchester City. The journalist appreciated ‘the attitude’ of Newcastle.

Newcastle United beat Manchester City in the Carabao Cup third-round game to book their place in the round of 16 where they will face Manchester United at Old Trafford. This is the first time Man City has lost a game this season. And, for the Magpies, their bad start to the season is now a thing of the past as they keep building their momentum this season. This was Newcastle’s fourth successive clean sheet something that the Tyneside has struggled to do in the past.

And, after their stellar performance against the Premier League champions and last year’s treble winner, the Magpies have garnered praise from various sources. One rare journalist, who praised Eddie Howe’s men for their performance against City, is Ian Ladyman from the Mail.

Ian Ladyman praises Newcastle for their Victory against Man City

Undoubtedly, Manchester City is the best club in the world in terms of their results and performance on the pitch. However, Ian Lady from The Mail thinks that the Magpies have created a blueprint to beat Manchester City this season. He said;

"“If more clubs approached City matches with the attitude Newcastle showed, they may not stroll to the Premier League title quite so comfortably this year.”"

The journalist also praised the style of play from the Magpies as they prevented City from getting into the space that they enjoy so much during their game;

"“It was great to see Newcastle United players so often swarming all over their opponents in that second half, not allowing Manchester City the kind of space and freedom to play that they are so used to.”"

Do you agree with Ian Ladyman that the Magpies are showing the way for other teams how to beat Manchester City?
