Sean Longstaff opened his goal tally for the season when he netted against the Blades. Now, the Newcastle midfielder wants to score more goals this season.

In the past, Newcastle had midfielders who used to have goal tallys in double digits. Gary Speed or Rob Lee used to do that more often than not. Now, the current Newcastle midfielder, who is struggling to score goals has expressed his will to get on the score sheet more. Newcastle decimated Sheffield United this weekend and Sean Longstaff started the goal rout for the Magpies. He was very happy because that was his first goal of the season. The English midfielder is not known for his goal-scoring prowess from the midfield. But, he has expressed his will to add this aspect to his game.

After he scored the first goal of the season for the Magpies, Longstaff was asked whether he would love to get on the score sheet more often. Replied by saying;

"“Yeah, it is. It’s something Tripps (Kieran Trippier) has been banging into me. To get in the box more and arrive late.”"

Longstaff also praised the manager Eddie Howe as he thinks his game under him has changed a lot. This is what he had to say about his manager;

"“I feel like in the last two years under this manager I have added a lot to my game.”"

When he was asked about his goal-scoring in the past, this was what the Magpies midfielder had to say;

"“That is probably the last missing piece now. In the last few years, it has been one and then done in terms of goals in the Premier League, hopefully, that’s not the case this year.”"

Sean Longstaff scored once in the Premier League last season and twice in the Carabao Cup. Do you think Sean Longstaff can score more goals for Newcastle?
