Joelinton could be a star to Newcastle United’s team next season

Just a week ago, Brazil decided to call up Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton to their international squad, showing that outside of the Magpies’ club, others are taking notice of his play.
In the 2022-23 season, Joelinton, his midfield teammates and Newcastle United broke out as a prominent thing to watch within the Premier League. With the Champions League on the horizon, the team will be looking for players to shine and step up when it matters the most.
The support and applause for Joelinton flooded in this past 2022-23 season, with the Brazilian midfielder forming an exciting duo alongside Bruno Guimaraes. Next season, that partnership and play could drastically improve.
Both Joelinton and Guimaraes are native Brazilians, so as is the connection between the two was previously established ahead of time. However, that bond has grown into something special as each moment on the pitch the two have had intense chemistry.
That continued growth is going to help flourish the midfield for the Magpies for years to come.
Alongside the bonds he has built within the core of midfielders that have helped lead to team success, his personal play has also grown.
This past season he recorded one of his career-best campaigns with six goals, which was good for fourth on the team. The only three ahead of him were Miguel Almiron, Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson, all three forwards for the Magpies.
Newcastle’s Manager Eddie Howe put Joelinton into those positions to score goals and help the team on the offensive attack, playing him as a left winger at times. He also was given the ability to play as a center-attacking midfielder, where he showcased physical dominance against opposing teams as he helped the team formulate offensive possessions.
With his offensive prowess, he showed great skills on defense.
He is one of the top Premier League players in blocks and interceptions, while also being able to help out his team with tackles at times.
Next season, Joelinton can grow his contributions even further and help raise the roof of the Magpies.
They have the ability to be one of the top teams in the Premier League while also being a part of the Champions League, something they have not done since the 2002 season.
Having a strong midfield helps a team on both ends of the field, and Joelinton can be that rock that opposing teams fear especially considering the 26-year-old recently hired a physical trainer to increase his presence on the field.
With the team rarely losing midfield battles, the team will more than likely attempt to lockdown the remainder of the midfield to make sure the team stays as strong as they were this past season.

If the Magpies are able to replicate the success from their 2022-23 season, while also having players like Joelinton improve, the team’s ceiling will be raised exponentially.
