Giovanni Reyna makes perfect sense for Newcastle United to target

Newcastle United is in the market this summer to improve, and when I say market I mean like knees deep in the water with the endless possibilities of the ocean in front of them.
After clinching an appearance in the Champions League for the 2023-24 season by finishing fourth in the Premier League standings, the team is due for a few additions this coming offseason. And Borussia Dortmund‘s young gun Giovanni Reyna may be a player to keep on your radar.
The Bundesliga seems always to welcome some of North America’s top talent, and Reyna is no different.
The 20-year-old has established himself as one of the most promising young stars in European football at Borussia Dortmund this season participating in 22 contests while scoring seven goals and recording two assists.
He originally made his first-team debut for the Bundesliga side in January of 2020 after arriving from the New York City FC MLS academy. At first, his career began with slight hiccups as he attempted to adjust to the new life in front of him, but over time he was able to find a home with the club.
In his initial season, he performed so well that he received a call-up to the United States National Team, proving that others outside Borussia Dortmund were making note of his excellence.
He continued to showcase his talents in the Bundesliga throughout this season but with the youngster garnering so much attention he could find a new welcoming this offseason.
Newcastle United is in a key spot to make its way into the field of giants as they have the ability to unload over €250 million into the transfer market this coming offseason. With Reyna’s worth to be anywhere between €20-40 million, if Newcastle were to get into a bidding war they could surely pull away with it.
He is not someone you want to pass up on either, as a combination of him, Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson and either Miguel Almiron or Allan Saint-Maximin, the Magpies will have a loaded arsenal of talented forwards.
Reyna has been described as a shifty, true all-around star that can impact a team no matter where he is at on the field. His pace and keen ability to keep possession of the ball help him deliver phenomenal passes, as well as being an impressive free-kick taker.

All in all, it would be no surprise to see the Magpies load up and take a shot at this young American.
