Mason Mount is a perfect target for Newcastle United

Current Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has found himself in the light of the media lately due to the excessive spending habits of the team during the January Transfer Window.
Through the 2022-2023 campaign, Chelsea has spent over £600,000,000 on acquisitions, resulting in the team having to move on from certain players this offseason. One of those could be 24-year-old midfielder Mason Mount.
If that were to be the case, Mount would be the perfect addition to a struggling Newcastle United midfield. His current transfer market value, according to transfermarkt.us, sits at £75,000,000, showcasing how important he is to a team.
Newcastle United has struggled most of the season as they’ve tried to lock down some big names and consistent play in the midfield, and Mount could be the answer.
During the 2022-2023 Champions League run for Chelsea, he has provided four assists in seven appearances and has showcased strong leadership in an important tournament, something Newcastle will be looking for if they finish the year atop the Premier League table.
Mount has the ability to play as a center midfielder, attacking midfielder and left midfielder which would be huge for a Newcastle squad that has found itself with struggles scoring the ball.
Outside of the Champions League, he’s been a critical facilitator in the midfield providing three goals and two assists through league play this season.
With his importance being shown, Chelsea will certainly want to regain a handful of cash in return for their star midfielder. The most likely scenario, even with his value sitting around the €75 million mark, Newcastle will have to overpay for him.
