After a slow start to life at St James’ Park, it is safe to say that Bruno Guimaraes has come into his own in recent weeks and quickly become one of the most important players in this Newcastle United team. The club beat the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid to his signature, and we are starting to see why those clubs were interested in the Brazilian.

Newcastle United shelled out a huge transfer fee to bring him in from Lyon but it is starting to look like it was a good move on their part indeed. It is safe to say that those are big targets for a club that was fighting the drop not too long ago but at the same time, those are nothing that cannot be achieved.

Since the turn of the year, the Magpies have been one of the most in-form teams in all of Europe. Only Liverpool have managed to pick up more points than them.
