Following a draw vs. West Brom, Newcastle United will look to put some space between themselves and the relegation zone today when they face Aston Villa. The matchup at St. James’ Park is the only Premier League Friday fixture this week.

While 9th-place Villa are trying to push for a European slot, Newcastle should be the more desperate club here as they play for their survival. What do the bookies think of Newcastle’s chances at picking up just their third win out of 12 matches since 2021 began?

The Action Network has revealed the odds for today’s lone EPL matchup. Despite playing at home, Newcastle United are the underdogs at +280 while Aston Villa come in at +102. The odds for a draw are +245.

The goal total for this match is set at 2.25 with the over listed at +114 and the under at -141. On the season, Dean Smith’s side are 10th in goals while the Magpies sit in 16th.

Newcastle United are the underdogs at home in today’s match vs. Aston Villa.

According to Jeremy Pond of The Action Network, the best bet here will be the under. Both clubs are missing key players in the attack, including Jack Grealish, Callum Wilson, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Miguel Almiron.

He also suggested that if you’re betting on a result, you should go with the draw. Pond highlighted that Villa’s struggles at SJP could even out their advantage of being the better club overall.
