Newcastle United need to go all in for this Chelsea youngster when the summer window opens.

Newcastle United will be navigating the loan market in January, and will only likely spend a few million to bring Jetro Willems back in a permanent deal. That signing would be great business for the Magpies, and the window would be even better if new internal deals for Ciaran Clark and Dwight Gayle are also finalized.

A key area that needs a major upgrade is in the middle of the park, however, a proper, long-term solution will not be found during this transfer window. Newcastle United need to spend some money to secure the services of a quality player.

The player Newcastle United need is on the books at Chelsea, but is out on loan at West Brom. With all the clues in place, that player is Conor Gallagher.

The 20-year-old midfielder was linked with Newcastle United before the start of this season, but the front office need to make that move happen this time around. Playing the young duo of Matty Longstaff and Conor Gallagher together gives Newcastle United the best shot at winning more games over the course of several seasons.

How so? Well, for starters, look at the energy they play with. Both players have equal commitment to applying pressure in the final third as they do in providing support for the back line.

Both players have great composure on the ball, spot the right passing targets, and distribute the ball with accuracy. Moreover, Longstaff and Gallagher would be key contributors in the goal scoring department.

Newcastle United are far too dependent on striker Callum Wilson for their goals, and that needs to change. Longstaff has proven his ability to score meaningful goals and threaten keepers, and Gallagher also has an eye for goal.

The youngster scored six goals for Charlton Athletic in the Championship last term, and he already has two goals to his name for West Brom this season. Newcastle United need more dynamic players who are eager to make a name for themselves and Gallagher is one of those players.
