Newcastle United will look to extend their good run of form against Brighton tomorrow.

Newcastle United claimed their first three points of the season on opening day against West Ham (2-0), and Steve Bruce will be hoping for a similar outcome against Brighton tomorrow.

The Seagulls are coming off a 3-1 home defeat against a stacked Chelsea squad, and they will be searching for their first points in the 2020 campaign. Newcastle United and Brighton drew 0-0 twice last season, but that will change tomorrow.

With the injection of new quality, and depth in every position, the Magpies will present a unique challenge for mid-table sides like Brighton. Graham Potter has a dilemma as he could be preparing for the wrong tactical matchup.

With the players Steve Bruce has at his disposal, he could unleash a 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, or 4-3-3 formation. The expectation is that Bruce will stick with the 4-4-2 shape he deployed last weekend in London.

Brighton are also unpredictable in terms of overall quality as they also had a busy transfer window with multiple new faces walking through the door. The most notable summer signing for Brighton (so far) has been Adam Lallana.

That being said, though, Newcastle United will be the favorites to win this clash. With a proven striker in Callum Wilson now leading the front line, the offensive efficiency is expected to improve significantly.

With two goals scored and 15 shot attempts on the road last weekend, Newcastle United gave a glimpse of what they are capable of this season. Brighton will struggle to cope with the confidence of the home side tomorrow.

History is on Brighton’s side as they have managed to frustrate Newcastle United by avoiding defeat over the past three seasons, but the trio of Callum Wilson, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Miguel Almiron will help change that trend. Things could be worse for Brighton if dynamic winger Ryan Fraser is also thrown into the mix.
