Newcastle United have a great opportunity to secure the services of a young winger with massive potential.

Newcastle United have been linked with several players over the last few weeks. The club’s current transfer strategy is quite simple as a result of operating on a limited budget this summer.

The Magpies have their sights set on multiple players who are available at discount prices due to their clubs’ relegations, as well as Premier League veterans they can sign for free.

While Newcastle United have been successful bargain hunters over the past three seasons, it is time for the club to take an affordable gamble.

According to a new report out of Uruguay, 18-year-old winger Facundo Pellistri is ready to take his talent to Europe.

A few months ago the youngster was on the radars of top teams, such as Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid, but it’s Newcastle United and Wolves that remain in the race.

The aforementioned report states that Penarol have a placed a £10m release clause in Pellistri’s contract, and that is a small price for Newcastle United to pay to secure the services of a teenager who has the potential to become a key player.

The Magpies’ front office has spent £10m on players who were not even worth half that price, such as Jacob Murphy and Yoshinori Muto, so why not take a gamble on a talented youngster who is eager to make a name for himself in Europe?

His manager and former Uruguayan star Diego Forlan agrees with Pellistri’s agent that the young winger is too good for his current situation and is ready to take his game to the next level.

Newcastle United need to sign a dynamic winger who can play opposite of Allan Saint-Maximin and serve as a secondary playmaker with Miguel Almiron in the final third.

Pellistri is not the type of winger who has an eye for goal, but his pace, technical skills, and vision will open avenues in dangerous areas for teammates.

Newcastle United would need to help the youngster adapt to English football, and groom him into a regular starter, but Pellistri has the talent and mentality to become a top player.
